PARENT REQUEST FOR VACATION

Families requesting a vacation during the school year must submit the request for principal approval at least one week in advance. Vacations may not exceed five (5) school days and will not be approved during the final two weeks of the school term.

Students are responsible for obtaining assignments and information about assessments before leaving. Unless other arrangements are made with the teacher in advance, missed work and assessments must be completed within two school days of returning. Missed Physical Education classes beyond four classes must also be made up. Vacation requests may be denied for students with excessive absenteeism (15% of school days missed).

Students are permitted up to 10 cumulative lawful absences per school year, plus five (5) pre-approved vacation days. After 10 lawful absences, additional absences—excluding approved vacation days—require documentation from a licensed medical practitioner to be excused.
