Penn-Trafford High School Students Attend Medical Career Day

Students from the Anatomy and Physiology Honors classes at Penn-Trafford High School participated in Medical Career Day, hosted by Independence Health System on March 21. The event, held at Westmoreland Hospital and open to schools across the region, provided students with the opportunity to explore a variety of medical careers, including anesthesia, human resources and recruitment, imaging, infection control, laboratory sciences, nursing, obstetrics, operating room nursing, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and surgical technology.

In addition to learning about these fields, students engaged with medical professionals who demonstrated surgical equipment and explained procedures used at Independence Health System’s hospital in Greensburg. The event offered a valuable hands-on experience, helping students gain insight into potential career paths in the medical field.
