Interns from Mrs. Falk’s Media & Literacy class at Penn-Trafford High School planned and executed a successful “Trunk-or-Treat” event for children in the local community. Interns Laela Whetstone, Madison Gent, Justine Jackson, and Trinity Alaia coordinated with thirty-six school groups to provide games, candy, and small prizes for children up to grade 6. Among the groups participating were many varsity sports teams, clubs, and organizations like Mock Trial, Yearbook class, Media Literacy, and Coffee for a Cause. Some staff also participated, including the high school secretaries, and the security staff.
On the evening of October 17, each group parked its decorated vehicle in the high school parking lot. Then the costume-clad children made their way from one end of the lot to the other, collecting candy and enjoying the many activities available along the way. About 450 children participated in the event.
