Penn-Trafford High School’s math teachers celebrated “Pi Day” on March 14th with many pi-themed activities.
During Geometry classes, students measured objects to discover pi, rolled dice to get pi, converted the recipe ingredients at a cookie-eating station, and created spirograph pictures using circles.
In Precalculus, students created pictures from circles where they found the equation of a circle, arc length, area, sector area, and circumference.
Pi, a mathematical constant, is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. With a value of approximately 3.14, Pi is commonly celebrated on March 14th (3/14).
