On October 26, 2023, Penn-Trafford High School teachers Miss Miranda Frye and Mrs. Colleen Jones traveled to Canonsburg, PA to attend a carnival-themed youth summit for the Unified Special Olympics. Four students accompanied them to learn about leadership and steps for enhancing the inclusive environment at Penn-Trafford.
The summit was very beneficial to the Penn-Trafford attendees and will help as PT establishes a new Unified Bocce team this winter as well as a club focusing on promoting inclusion in the district.
Penn-Trafford is a new addition to the Special Olympics’ “Unified Champion Schools” in the movement to “Join the Ride” of inclusion.
