Penn-Trafford Senior Performs with Prestigious Symphonic Band

Teresa Campbell-Steffens, a senior at Penn-Trafford High School, performed at the National Association for Music Education All-Eastern Regional Conference as a member of the Symphonic Band.  The conference was held in Rochester, NY from April 13-16.  Campbell-Steffens auditioned for this ensemble by performing against students from Connecticut, New York, Delaware, Rhode Island, District of Columbia, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. Teresa is the first Penn-Trafford instrumental student ever and second PT student ever to perform in this prestigious event. The first was current PT Music Faculty member Andrea (Palmer) Frescura, who performed as a member of the NAfME All-Eastern Choir in Providence, RI, in 2009.

Teresa and the NAfME Symphonic Band were under the direction of Conductor Dr. James Tapia, from Syracuse University's Setnor School of Music. The concert took place in the Kodak Hall at the Eastman School of Music.
