Penn-Trafford Holds Engineering Day

Penn-Trafford High School students recently had the opportunity to engage in a dynamic learning experience.  On April 7th, a team of engineers visited the school to provide a workshop for those students with an interest in the field.

The day's events were spearheaded by PTHS junior, Kristina Heins with the help of teacher Mrs. Wukich and Westinghouse engineer Mr. Josh Phillips.

Mr. Phillips helped Kristina assemble a team of engineers from various backgrounds and disciplines to provide an immersive learning experience.  Participating engineers who spent the day at Penn-Trafford were Danielle Gagen, Jonathan Golnoski, Cenk Güler, Kevin Litzinger, Lynn Phillips, Josh Phillips, Aneesh Ramaswamy, Patrick Sebastiani, and Chris Sinback.

After opening remarks by Westinghouse's Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Rita Baranwal, the students participated in a bridge-building activity in which they were given one hour to create and build an effective design. Students also participated in break-out sessions with the engineers as well as a fun game of Engineering Jeopardy.
