Penn-Trafford Hosts Academic WorldQuest

“Academic WorldQuest” is an annual event that brings together high school students from neighboring schools to compete on their knowledge of various social studies topics.  Topics and study guides covering a variety of hot button issues were created by the World Affairs Council, and students were given two months to study the material before the competition on February 17th.

Penn-Trafford’s team of Mark Harris, Michael Harris, McCarthy Poljak and Cade Stukus competed against six other teams representing Franklin Regional, Yough and Belle Vernon.  PT finished in 4th place.

As the host team, Penn-Trafford provided trophies for the top 3 places.  Gregory Maynard, a 9th-grade student, designed and 3D printed the trophies using the skills he has learned in his Technology Education courses.
