PT’s Hough Receives Full-Tuition Scholarship to Saint Vincent

Daniel Hough, a senior at Penn-Trafford High School, is the recipient of a full-tuition scholarship to Saint Vincent College for eight semesters.

Hough went through a rigorous application and examination process before being named one of four winners of the school’s 41st Annual Wimmer Scholarship, which is valued at more than $150,000.

Criteria for the scholarship included a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher, an SAT score of 1300 or above, a minimum ACT of 28 or a CLT of 86.  Applicants then took the Wimmer Scholarship Examination, which tested general knowledge.

The Wimmer Scholarship was named for Saint Vincent’s founder, Archabbot Boniface Wimmer.

“Daniel is one of those quiet, soft-spoken students who flies under the radar,” commented Principal Tony Aquilio.  “He has worked extremely hard for this opportunity and has a bright, successful future ahead of him.”
