Several Penn-Trafford High School students were recognized for their submissions to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards - Western PA Writing Project. Participating students are members of the school’s Creative Writing Roundtable which meet monthly.
The following Penn-Trafford students, all in grade 11, were named winners in their divisions:
Delena Steimer - Gold Key for her poem “Post-Apocalypse”
Mark Harris - Silver Key for his poem “Seersucker”
Kate Malley - Silver Key for her poem “Roommates”
Kate Malley - Honorable Mention for her poem “Gini”
In the coming weeks, the winners will have the opportunity to read their recognized work on the Saturday Light Brigade, a weekly public radio program. Delena Steimer's work as a gold key winner qualifies her to be considered at the national level and will be judged nationally in March.
