During the weekend of January 28th, the Penn-Trafford competitive cheerleaders traveled to Hershey, PA to compete in the PIAA competitive spirit championships. The team performed well in the preliminary round and was able to bypass the semifinals to advance directly to the final round of competition. They finished in 6th place in the state in a very competitive division.
The cheerleaders’ next event is the National High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando beginning February 9, for which they qualified in November 2021. To practice their routines for the upcoming trip, the team and boosters hosted a showcase on the evening of February 2 for their friends, family, and the community. “We had a huge turnout at the showcase and would like to thank the boosters, friends, family and our PT community for their support,” said coach Mrs. Katie Caruso.
