Forensics Class Tackles Glass Analysis

Mr. Rocco’s Forensic students at Penn-Trafford High School are finishing a lesson on glass analysis.  First, they smashed a piece of glass then they evaluated the entrance and exit holes (ie. ballistics).  Students were taught how to determine the impact side of the glass.

Next, the students used stereomicroscopes to evaluate the glass fragments, noting the stress placed from two types of fractures, radial and concentric.
