Penn-Trafford High School’s Mock Trial Team embarked on a new season with tournaments at both the University of Pittsburgh and Penn State University during the first two weekends of January.
Students from across Pennsylvania gathered in a virtual forum for both of these tournaments to try this year’s case, and to gain competitive experience in the process.
This year’s case was designed by lawyers from the PA BAR Association, and it combines murder with twists and turns that read like a "who done it" mystery.
Penn-Trafford freshman, Jared Miller, earned Best Witness recognition at both tournaments, and seniors Nicholas Freilino and Marin Polechko were recognized as top-ranked advocates at the University of Pittsburgh tournament.
The students will next compete in the Pennsylvania Bar Association's regional competitive event in February.
