Mr. Dave Babik, who has coached Penn-Trafford’s swim team for 30 years, has accepted the role of Chairman of the WPIAL Swimming & Diving Committee.
Babik served as a committee member for the past 15 years and has now stepped in to fill the chair position vacated by Jamie Morton.
In Babik’s new role, he will lead the committee which entails the planning and execution of the WPIAL Swimming and Diving Championships, enforcing the qualifying standards for swim meets, facilitating the smooth operation of the WPIAL swim season, and assisting member coaches with any issues that arise. He will also represent the WPIAL on the PIAA Swimming and Diving Committee.
Babik will continue to coach at Penn-Trafford where he has a record of 636-140-2 coming into this season for the boys and girls teams combined and 29 section titles.
