The advertising order form and FULL payment must be received by the staff on or before FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 5. Deadlines do not permit late or partial payments, or late receipt of order.

Ad space is limited; ads will be placed on a first-come, first-served basis.

We do NOT accept cash payments.

AD DESIGN TIPS:

  • All photos must be sent as a JPEG File saved to the highest possible resolution.
  • Make sure all items turned in are labeled clearly with your child’s name.
  • CDs will NOT be returned. Hard copies will NOT be accepted.
  • When choosing pictures for the layout, please keep in mind horizontal pictures fit best in horizontal boxes and vertical pictures fit best in vertical boxes.

If you need help with scanning hard copy photos into digital ones, please try the following:

  1. Ask your child or children – they are often more tech savvy than we are!
  2. Ask a family member or co-worker to help you.
  3. If all else fails, please consider contacting a local business that will scan photos and place the digital images onto a CD for you. Some places that do this include Target, Walmart, Office Depot, Sam’s Club, and Giant Eagle.

REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU DO, PLEASE SCAN PHOTOS AT THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE RESOLUTION, AND SAVE THEM AS JPEG FILES.

REFUND POLICY:

While every effort will be made to prevent errors from occurring in the ad, the staff advisor, PTHS, PTSD, employees, and students cannot guarantee an error-free ad. It will not be possible to refund  except in the event that an ad that was not printed.

*The yearbook staff reserves the right to reject photos or text and/or make changes to conform to staff standards.

FAQs and Miscellaneous Information

Q: What do I do if my child’s senior pictures are not back in time to meet the yearbook’s deadline?

A: Submit the senior ad order form online and send payment to reserve your ad space. Comment on the form that you are still waiting for the senior pictures. As soon as you receive them, email the yearbook staff: pthsyearbook@penntrafford.org  or have your son or daughter drop off the CD or flashdrive to Room 138.

*Missing senior photos MUST be received by NOVEMBER 12.*

Q: Can the yearbook staff resize or crop people out?

A: Yes, we can do both. Please specify preferences in regard to cropping, resizing, or the like, and keep in mind that images may become blurry when resized to a large extent.

Q: Will my digital photos be returned?

A: CDs will NOT be returned. Original hard copies will NOT be accepted.

Q: Who should I send my pictures to if using email?

A: Send your photos to pthsyearbook@penntrafford.org

Q: What is the procedure regarding sharing and splitting of ad space?

A: If you wish to purchase an ad for two or more students, you may do so, and the participating parents may split the price. Keep in mind that this means they are SHARING the space. This is not permitted if you want your child on the same page as another child but you want separate ads. If they are separate ads (even if on the same page), they must be paid for separately and the full price applies.

Q: Are there copyright rules for song lyrics, poems, text out of a book, or similar copy?

A: Yes, you may only borrow up to FOUR lines of text from song lyrics, a

poem or other published work. Any amount over and above four lines requires permission from the person holding the copyright.

*The author’s name of the work must be included, regardless of the amount of text borrowed.

Q: How are ad prices determined?

A: Our ad prices are aligned with the ad prices of neighboring school districts. The PT Yearbook staff uses the funds from business ads and senior ads as a means of making yearbooks more affordable for all students. When possible, additional funds from these advertisements go towards the purchase of yearbooks for underprivileged students.
